William was baptized today, and Daddy was received into the Episcopal Church. Bishop Councell said he fell in love with William and referred to William a couple of times in his sermon--very cool! William was very good during the baptism--no crying when the water and then the oil were placed on his head. (We had practiced with water running on his head in the bath.) Father Fred also gave him his first communion (he dipped his pinky in the wine and ran it across William's tongue.) Actually he was very good period. We had to arrive at the church by 9:00, and with a big procession at the start of the service, church didn't start until around 10:30. Because of the baptism, confirmations, and receivings, and then a reception after the service, we did not leave the church until around 12:30. William never cried! He took a mini catnap at the beginning of the service, but he was awake and looking around the church and paying attention to the sermon--he just took it all in!

We then went back to the house and had cake--William really eyed it--and opened presents. William was really pleased with the gifts and smiled at several of them. He is so interested in everything! He has started doing a "puppy dog" head tilt as he studies things as he tries to make sense of them.
