February 2

Today is Lang Se's birthday! He is six years old! We had a little birthday party for him, though not nearly as decorated as the party for Daddy. William and Mommy went to the grocery store to get Lang Se some cans of tuna for his gift. While there, they picked up tuna steaks for Mommy's and Daddy's dinner as well. It was a tuna birthday celebration!

William wished Lang Se happy birthday by cheering and saying "ki--y -a-" (vowels--yes, consonants--not so much) every time Lang Se walked through the room. William also gave him a good massage as the two of them cuddeled together in Mommy's lap. Lang Se just purred and purred as William rubbed his back.

We had a warm spell today, so this afternoon, Mommy and William went outside to enjoy the temperature change. William immediately began playing with sticks (which Mommy took away to protect his eyes), and he started pulling up moss and digging up acorn shells. We then walked over to our sandy spot in the yard, and he raked his fingers through the grains. Then William crunched the dried leaves still scattered in the yard. Mommy can't wait for spring when William can really explore the outside!

When bath time came along, William started playing with his bath toys. When Mommy asked him what the yellow rubber bird with the orange beak was, he said, "du--." (Again, no consonants.) He is so cool!
