April/May catch-up: Teething and Mother's Day

It has been a little while since the last pictures were posted, but it seems so fast, especially when teething is concerned. The picture of William's smiling face showing off his two new pearly whites was April 24, and here it is again, May 19, and William woke up last night congested and Mommy has spent the day wiping a runny nose and watching the little guy drool. It looks like we have more teeth coming. In the timeline of teething, the torture for parents needs a longer vacation (and yes, I understand it is no picnic for the baby either)--or else they all need to come in at once so that everyone involved can get the pain of teething overwith.William has grown taller so that now the items kept "safe" atop the washstand that holds our TV are safe no longer. Those things inside the washstand have not been safe for a while as can be seen in the picture of our padwan working on his lightsaber skills--and double lightsaber at that! He has also snatched the wii gun from the cabinet. The doors have been tied shut with a hair elastic tightly wound around the knobs of the doors, but William just pulls the doors open anyway and reaches his little hand in.

William is also climbing into the rocking chair in our den. He has fun climbing up, sitting with a big smile on his face, and then turning around to slide out again. He does make Mommy and Daddy nervous when he decides to stand in the chair. We are current;y working on the directive to "sit." Sometimes we feel like we are working with a puppy--"sit," "no biting."

For Mother's Day, we went to Winterthur to see the azaleas in bloom. There is a whole portion of the estate named "The Azalea Woods" and it is gorgeous! It is like walking through multicolored clouds of cotton candy, everything is so fluffy and lovely. William also enjoyed the enchanted garden, a section of the estate designed for children. It was a beautiful day!
