it's a castle
This evening, our family went to a party at William's friend, Ian's, house. The hometown has a heritage festival each year and the evening is capped off with fireworks over the lake. Ian's house is right on the lake. While we have been over to play a few times, tonight was the first time we ventured down to the water's edge. Ian's parents built a wall to keep little ones from going into the water, and it made a great spot for gazing into the rapid current. William quickly pointed out the "waterfall" caused by the dam, and then he pointed out the "castle" across the water. What an amazing thing the eye of a child is! Across the river from Ian's yard is an old abandoned mill that mysteriously burned a couple of years back. With the fragmented silhouette, it very well looked like a castle. And guess who lives there: Donald!
