Kindergarten orientation

William is super excited about kindergarten! He had his orientation on Tuesday, and was skipping and jumping in anticipation before we went. He was ready to skip preschool for the morning asking, "Are we going to kindergarten today?" He hurried in to the school, and when two of his buddies from preschool came in, they rushed to sit next to one another on a bench. However, once we started walking down the hall to one of the classrooms, he started clinging. He held tightly to my hand and wanted me to pick him up. I wouldn't, but held his hand to the room. Then we went into a classroom and he latched on tighter, grabbing me around the legs. When the teacher started calendar time, he settled down and paid attention. It was very cool! Then we went to the library where the parents went in to have a a question and answer session. He was very nervous at first, but we sat him at a table with three if his classmates, and he had star shaped cookies with Swift written on them. He also had a coloring sheet. When I came back from the meeting, he was happy as a lark! He also got a folder of summer prep work and impressively sounded out site word cards with pictures. It was a good afternoon!
