William got sick Sunday night. Towards bedtime, he was ready to crawl in bed and go to sleep. He told me he got my cold, and wanted me to curl up next to him. When I did, his little body was hot, so I pulled out the thermometer. He had a fever of 100.7. We got out the children's Tylenol, and he was soon asleep. During the night, though, he ended up in Mommy and Daddy's bed with a higher fever of 102. I put him in the bath to cool him off. He couldn't go back to sleep, though, and spent the next few hours moaning with a tummy ache. About 3:30, he jumped up and dove for the bucket we had thankfully placed next to the bed. He got sick for the next half hour. He cried and cried and asked if he was going to die. It is only the second time he has ever vomited, and this was pretty traumatic for him. His crying woke Charles, who was concerned about William, but then wanted to be held himself. William felt better after emptying his stomach and was finally able to sleep at about 4:30. Charles stayed up until Daddy left for work at 6:30. The three of us then slept until 8:30.
William kept his fever all day yesterday with it going down to 100.4 and then popping back up. He slept through the afternoon and went to bed again early, sleeping until 8:00 this morning. He is feeling better and would like to go back to school, but with a slight fever, he is home once again. Poor little guy!
