William woke up at 5:30 this morning...well, let me back up. William woke up a couple of times last night, once around 10:00, and again around 10:30. Mommy let him cry for a bit (mayber 45 seconds) and he went back to sleep. This morning, William cried again and Daddy hopped right up to go get him. Thus William ended up in bed with Mommy while Daddy got ready for work. Mommy and William managed to sleep a while longer until Mommy got up to get showered. William was strapped in his bouncy seat on the bathroom floor. After Mommy finished her routine of bundling up in her pink bathrobe, taking her vitamins, brushing her teeth, and drying her hair, she released William from his chair while she padded into her closet to find something to wear.
William, however, had plans of his own. He headed to the small flight of stairs and tried to figure out how to go down them. Mommy asked him what he was supposed to do, and he flattened on his belly and scooted backwards. Excellent! Except he was scooting back in to the room. He couldn't quite figure out how to turn around. After Mommy helped, William scooted backwards down the stairs into Mommy's office and crawled into the hallway. After waiting for Mommy to peek around the corner for him, he smiled and, taking off for his bathroom, said, "Bath!" In he went, right over to the tub. He pulled himself up to look in at all of his rubber duckies and took his bathrobe off the doorknob as if to tell Mommy, "You had your turn, and now it is my turn!"
