Quick overview of the month of June

Wow! June has flown past, and I have not written anything about the whole month! That's terrible! I guess I keep thinking I need to upload pictures for the blog and since that takes so long, I do not even write notes. I'll post pictures later, but right now, let me get you up to date. But before I do that, I must pause and clean up the water that William has just poured all over the den floor. No cup of water is safe unless it is his no spill cup!

OK, back to the blog. William and Mommy flew to South Carolina to see everyone there. We arrived on Thursday the 11th and William got to have his first sleep-over with his cousin Spires! They had so much fun running around, "driving" cars in the driveway, and jumping on the baby trampoline. We also got to go to Austin's first birthday party on that Saturday. William got to play in a bounce house for the first time. He wasn't too sure of bouncing with the big kids in there, but towards the end of the party, he bounced just a little. The whole next week, we had play dates with Austin, Spires, Quin, and Alyssa. Mary Elizabeth isn't quite ready to play yet, but she did get squashed between the three big boys as we got a cousin picture of the four Brown cousins. William and Nathan had a good time at Cracker Barrel sharing corn and getting completely greasy!

Daddy was thrilled when we returned home. He even surprised Mommy by cleaning the house before he picked us up from the airport! What a treat! Daddy is so wonderful!

Daddy had his last day of work while Mommy and William were away, but it really sunk in that summer had started when that Monday morning Daddy got to stay home with us. (And the rain finally started to go away!) We got up bright and early and headed to the Ocean City boardwalk so Daddy could run and Mommy could walk while pushing William's stroller. After their walk, Mommy and William went down on the beach where William could play in the sand for the first time. The rest of the week we also took a picnic breakfast to eat on the beach after our walk.

Yesterday, William got his first taste of the ocean--and he loved it! We walked down to the water and let it lap over his toes, and that was it! He was realy to play. We ended up with a soggy baby with a saggy diaper, but he had fun! Today went went back down to the water, but this time William spotted the black-headed seagulls and started chasing them.

What else...Oh! William is now communicating when he wants food. Not with the crying where we have to figure it out, but with a request for "Yummy-yummies!" Unfortunately in addition to the tick he tried last month, William has also tasted a ladybug at Bee Bee's house and a shriveled spider when he got back home. What is it with him eating critters! Yuck! Austin introduced him to his new food love--Cheerios! William cannot get enough! He still will not eat meat, though, except for hot dogs. Although he did take a couple of bites of Mommy's ham sandwich one day. He also stole a couple of bites of her peanut butter toast one morning. And he likes to drink water from Mommy's cup at the beach rather than his own. All I can think is this is payback for Bee Bee never getting to drink her beverages before we drank them for her!

OK, little man is tired and in need of a bath.
