Dum Dum

I have a collection of children's resource materials on my bookcases. Included are some developmental textbooks, but more fun are the items collected while doing my practicum, student teaching, and college projects. William loves to look through them--especially the Ed Emberley fingerprint drawing book. Now, however, he has new favorites: the social studies homework help books. They are a colorful collection of three books with condensed information on World History, U.S. History, and Geography. William first found U.S. History with the train on the cover. We were able to find the train inside and learn about the transcontinental railroad. But now he has found the World History book with the picture of an Easter Island statue on the cover. He ran up to me with the book, so excited, and yelled out "Dum Dum!" I had to laugh! He is correct--that would be Dum Dum from the Night at the Museum movies. Unfortunately, Dum Dum only appears on the cover of that book--there is no article on it inside. Who knows why. So I had to pull my huge art history book off the shelf to show him a real photo of Easter Island. He didn't care about that cumbersome book--he waited until Daddy got home to show him the cover picture of Dum Dum.
