the littlest pumpkin

William's school had their pumpkin patch on Friday.  There are two preschool classes at his school, and the other class came outside first.  They were all carrying their pumpkins proudly to their parents.  William's class came out without any pumpkins.  I thought maybe they were keeping them for next week.  I asked William what he did that day, and as usual, he was not very forthcoming.  Half way to the car, though, he suddenly got excited and told me he had a surprise in his backpack and asked if I could guess what was in there.  After guesing all kinds of things, I looked inside and found a tiny little pumpkin with a sticker face.  William was so proud!  He told me it was the littlest pumpkin--just like one of his Halloween books.
