Our church story for the day:
William was extra tired this morning since he got less sleep last night. See, Mommy fell asleep in bed watching a movie, and Daddy fell asleep downstairs on the couch watching tv. William did not fall asleep. We really do not know what he did until he finally got face to face with Daddy, tapped him, and said, "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!" waking him up at 10:00.
This late night made William sleepy during church, so Mommy took him to the nursery and rocked him until he fell asleep. When it was time for the peace, Mommy carried him upstairs so she could make an announcement--with sleeping William in her arms. Thenew Vestry members we installed today, so Mommy was called up with them so the Vestry could be prayed for--with sleeping William in her arms. William slept through the Eucharistic prayers until we were to sing "Holy, Holy, Holy" for which the organist blasted out an absurdly loud chord, waking William and scaring him into shakes. Mommy was able to calm him before going up for Communion.
At the Communion rail, Mommy was going to let William stand on the kneeling bench like he did last week, but this week William decided he was going to kneel. So there is our little munchkin kneeling between Mommy and Daddy and sticking out his little hands as a cup to receive the wafer. Mommy was doing her best not to laugh at his surprising cuteness at the altar--which would not be a good thing.
At the church's monthly brunch, William plowed through 5 pieces of bacon which he kept stealing off of Mommy's and Daddy's plates. He did have a few pieces of fruit before the bacon came, but once Daddy brought our plates, the bacon thief took over. Perhaps bacon monster? I can hear a Cookie Monster voice calling out "BACON!"
When we got home from church, William took off through our yard wearing his khaki pants that are too long. After two days of rain, the hems were soaked. Therefore once we got his wrangled and into the house, his shoes and pants were stripped off, leaving him in his white button down shirt and white socks--he looked as if he jumped out of Risky Business.
Honestly, the boy is too cute!
