what a day!

Mommy woke up yeaterday chipper to pose as a naughty leprechaun. She got William dressed and the two headed out to Daddy's school to leave a leprechaun note in his car while taking a bag of goodies from his car trunk. She was going to make green food and read Irish stories to William, and watch Darby O'Gill and the Little People. Unfortunately, on the drive back home, Mommy's stomach turned inside out and she ended up doubled over in pain for the rest of the morning. She called her Daddy and he said it sounded like a virus and prescribed some medicine. Unfortunately, Mommy could not get out of bed because of the pain. She called Daddy to get him to skip track practice and pick up the meds, but his reaction was for Mommy to call Daddy's dad to take her to the emergency room in case it was appendicitis or a gall bladder issue. Mommy called her Daddy again to be reassured and he said to try the medicine and see if it would work. Jake (Daddy's dad) picked up the medicine, and Mommy took it--sleeping the rest if the day. (Except Mommy did manage to go to choral society practice to secure her solo--and to hear more people say her aches sounded like gall bladder.)

Today, Mommy woke up feeling better--still a little ache in the belly, but with another phone call to her Daddy and another administration of meds, she is feeling better. Daddy knows best--and knows of the current bugs. A few pills are much better than surgery!

And where was William through all this? He was playing by himself or crawling in bed next to Mommy to watch TV. He was so good to Mommy to let her stay in bed! When Daddy got home, he took William outside to play with his sandtable, swing, and hammock to run off energy. Thank goodness for daylight savings time. They had a good playtime.
