Darth Vader stole the wallet

William has decided he wants to be Darth Vader. Last weekend, he pointed out Darth Vader living upstairs in Daddy's office. Then he wanted his sword/lightsaber and we dressed him in his darkest denim jeans and dark blue hooded sweatshirt. (He doesn't have black clothes.) He made Daddy so proud when William came down the stairs in his outfit Daddy asked, "Are you a Jedi?" and William responded, "I Darth Vader." We went to our church rummage sale, and William carried his lightsaber all the way through. He did allow the lightsaber to stay in the car, though, when we went to a birthday party that afternoon.

William dressed in more dark, hooded clothes a couple of times at school this week, posing as Darth Vader. He is still the sweet boy, too, wanting to come home and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He asks for the episodes specifically: "I want Mickey and Donald chase coo-coo" (Mickey's Adventures in Wonderland), "I want Pete's Party" (Halloween episode), "I want Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Snow" (Choo-Choo Express). He sits and watches and answers all of Mickey's questions.

Yesterday, Mommy and Daddy had a church dinner to go to, and we knew it would be late, so we made arrangements for William to have a sleep-over with his cousins, Gabriel and Samuel. He got dressed so easily Friday morning because Mommy told him the sooner he got his day going and got to school , the sooner he would go to Gabriel and Samuel's house. When Daddy picked him up from school, all William could talk about was Gabriel and Samuel's house. When Mommy got home from work, he was ready to pack his bag. When we dropped him off at their house, we beat Gabriel and Samuel to their own house by a minute. We made it to their front door just as their car pulled up. As Gabriel started across the front yard, William called out, "Gabriel!" Gabriel called back, "William!" Then they all bounded inside and down to the toy room where William was entranced. He didn't really say good-bye to Mommy and Daddy because he was too busy playing. So far today we have not heard anything from Aunt Jamie. Hopefull no news is good news and the night, and morning, have been a success!

Now about that wallet--before we were leaving last night, Daddy suddenly started rushing around the house. As mommy got William and his bag and the items we had to take to the church dinner in the car, Daddy rushed from his car to the den to the bedroom to the den to the car and around and around. Mommy told William, "Daddy lost his wallet." Sure enough, when Daddy got to the car, he didn't know where his wallet was. He retraced his steps and said it could only be in his bag. Then Mommy asked if it was stolen, and Daddy said it must have been--it was the only explanation. However, he always left his classroom locked, and he never took it out all day for anyone to see it. When we got home, Mommy looked in one spot--the decorative planter on the second shelf of our entry table. Somehow the wallet had been put inside where Daddy didn't look. And who had caused all this unrest--and tension between the parents?--our little Darth Vader, William.
