Amish culture and Thomas the Tank Engine

Ready for our Amish buggy ride!

William was so excited as the brake was taken off the buggy and the buggy jolted.

Our ride took us through a working farm where the cows were being milked.  The farmer also sold pretzels and cookies made by his daughter-in-law.

That aftrnoon we moved from Bird-in-Hand to Kitchen Kettle Village where William got to go on a pony ride,

meet a llama,

and greet a sheep.

We finished the day at a local canning company before going back to the hotel for a rest and then enjoying Amish cooking at the Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant.

The next day, we went to see Thomas the Tank Engine.

We were first in line to meet Sir Topham Hatt.

William was excited to ride the Thomas train.

Here we go!

After riding a longer train ride on a refurbished 1915-1930 car, we made our way back to the Bird-in-Hand Bake Shoppe where we got Amish treats to take home.  A little goat escaped his pen to eat the food that had dropped on the ground, and William had fun chasing him back in through the rails.
