A kiss

When William's birthday approaches, William tends to go through emotional growing pains: he angers quickly; he is moody. Yesterday was less extreme than the previous weeks, and he surprised me with moments of extra sweetness. We went to our story time at the library, and while he was working on his craft, a patriotic photo frame, he leaned over and kissed me on the cheek. So unexpected and so sweet! Later in the evening when we were alone and I was carrying him, he said, "I love you." He said this lovely sentiment a couple of times. My sweet boy!
