Talk to me turtle

Yesterday William was playing with three little bath squirter turtles. He tried to put one in his the ball shoot of his jungle play set. I heard him say, "Turtle, why aren't you talking to me? Talk to me, turtle. You aren't talking to me in there, turtle." I told him turtle was behind the play set, and then I asked if turtle talks to him. William looked at me and said, "He pretends to talk to me."
